10 Week Beginner Running Programme
Thinking about getting active, rebuilding fitness, or finally running your first 5K? Whether you’re starting from scratch or returning after a break, our 10-week beginner running programme is the perfect place to begin.
Hosted by FitFunActive and running at Charlottenburg Park, this course blends beginner-friendly jogging intervals with essential weekly strength exercises designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and stay injury-resistant as you progress.
What’s Included in the February 2026 Couch to 5K
Across 10 weeks, our experienced coaches take you through a structured programme that introduces gradual running intervals, clear guidance, and simple strength work that supports safe progress.
The strength component is a vital part of the training. You can expect squats, lunges, core drills, balance work, and full-body movements that make running more comfortable and more sustainable.
This isn’t just about getting to 5K it’s about building a foundation for long-term movement, confidence, and health.
What You Can Expect
- 🗓 Weekly group sessions every Thursday at 7:00pm, from 26 February to 30 April 2026
- 📋 A clear and progressive running plan to follow between sessions
- 🏃 Jog–walk intervals that build safely toward completing a full 5K
- 💪 Strength training integrated every week to support comfort and resilience
- 🤝 A friendly, encouraging community atmosphere
- 🧠 Access to qualified coaches for questions and support
- 🎉 A celebratory 5K Parkrun on Saturday 2 May 2026
Is This 10-Week Beginner Running Programme for Me?
Absolutely, we designed this course specifically for complete beginners. You don’t need any running or strength experience to join.
Whether you’re returning after time away, building a new routine, or taking your first step toward a healthier lifestyle, we pace this programme with care, understanding, and consistency.
We ask participants to:
- ✅ Attend at least 8 of the 10 sessions
- ⏱ Complete at least one additional run per week
- 💛 Embrace both the running and strength elements of the programme

By joining, you agree that short clips and photos will be taken during sessions and used on our social platforms. These snapshots capture the spirit, progress, and encouragement shared within the group. If you have concerns, simply speak to a coach beforehand.

We offer this Couch to 5K programme completely free, but we only have space for 100 participants. To secure your spot, please register before 15 February 2026.

Yes, you are very welcome to join the class. The course is free, so you can come and give it a try. If you feel it is not right for you, that is absolutely okay. You have nothing to lose.
The sessions are very supportive and suitable for beginners. You do not need perfect English to take part. We explain things clearly and are happy to help during the session.
