Small Group Personal Training
Small Group Personal Training (SGPT) crosses the bridge between 1-2-1 and traditional group exercise. This is because you get all the benefits of working with a highly qualified personal trainer – guided practice, professional advice, and bespoke workout plans. At the same time sharing the experience with others, raising accountability and engaging camaraderie more familiar in the group class setting.
It is important to note that SGPT differs from traditional group classes (such as Zumba, pilates or circuit training ), as it’s much more personalised.
One important distinction is that with SGPT, you won’t necessarily be doing precisely the same exercise as the others in your group. Your PT will have adjusted your program to fit better what you’re aiming for and what you ultimately want to achieve. Thus FitFunActive SGPT offers benefits beyond your average fitness class, personalised based on individual needs. Each individual will have a phone consultation to outline training needs and specific fitness goals.
How much will it cost?
Small-Group PT is at a session rate of £40. A block of 10 sessions is £350. Time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis. You can book a place via the website, subject to availability. Alternatively, you can cement your place in blocks of 10. Advance notice of at least 24 hours is required ahead of any absence. So that particular day/slot can be filled.
Why Us?
We assess and evaluate the best way to help you reach your goal. No matter where you’re starting from, we’ll guide you step by step to get there together.
We will deliver a first class service that will guide you every step of the way.
Let’s take a step back, re-assess, analyse, and re-commit to the same or a revised goal.
We are driven by success in helping our clients achieve their aims. Our results are fantastic!

📅 SAVE THE DATE 4th of July
Yes, we know… it’s still January 😅😶🌫️
It feels wildly premature talking about a barbecue in July.
But for the planners out there that’s the proposed date.
This has become an annual FitFunGathering a chance for clients, families, friends, colleagues, kids, walkers, runners, trekkers, first-timers, long-timers… everyone, to come together in the same space.
By sharing the date early, we’re giving as many people as possible the chance to be there.
So if this is something you’d love to be part of:
📌 Save the date 4th of July
More details nearer the time.
For now… please put a little circle around that date ❤️

More intensity.
More reps.
More weight.
More pressure.
That approach can look productive but for most people it rarely builds resilience that lasts.
As Dr Julie Smith often reminds us, `lasting change doesn’t come from forcing ourselves harder.
It comes from understanding our patterns, reducing friction, and choosing actions we can return to again and again`.
When the noise quietens, better choices become easier to repeat.
That’s where real grit is built, in consistency.
Three things matter most:
1.Consistency over intensity
Showing up beats going all-in and burning out.
2.Manageable steps
Progress you can repeat builds confidence and trust.
3.Patience and purpose
Knowing why you’re doing this and giving it time to work.

Shoulder stability takes time, patience, and practice but it’s worth it.
With the right movements and consistent effort, you can build strength that reduces the wobbles, quiets the hesitations, and reinforces the small stabilisers that keep the shoulder solid and capable.

More intensity, more reps, more weight, more pressure.
But that approach rarely builds grit or resilience that lasts.
As behavioural science often reminds us, breaking cycles starts with awareness, not force.
And once the noise drops, better choices become easier to repeat.
As Angela Duckworth puts it:
“Grit is passion and perseverance for long-term goals.”
Three things matter most:
1. Consistency over intensity. Showing up beats going all-in.
2.Manageable steps. Progress you can repeat builds confidence.
3. Meaning and patience. knowing why you’re doing it, and giving it time.

26th Feb, another cohort go from the couch…
to a healthier lifestyle, a fitter lifestyle, and a more active one.
Our approach is rooted in taking the first step and then continuing to take small, consistent steps from there.
Build confidence.
Build rhythm.
Build belief.
Over time, those small steps add up to something meaningful not just physically, but mentally and socially too.
Simple. Supportive. Together.

Ironically, as trust can feel harder to come by, it seems easier to stand out. Not by being louder, smarter, or flashier, but by leaning into old-school values.
Treating people with sincerity.
Showing up with honesty.
Coaching with care and compassion.
And never thinking you’re above the small stuff.
That’s how we try to operate at FitFunActive.
We pay attention to the `small things`.
We stay grounded.
And we work hard not to get ahead of ourselves.
So if you’re a budding trainer and you’ve read this far… put your t-shirt back on, "pick up the broom",
and hold on to what really matters.

Shoulder stability takes time, patience, and practice but it’s worth it.
With the right movements and consistent effort, you can build strength that reduces the wobbles, quiets the hesitations, and reinforces the small stabilisers that keep the shoulder solid and capable.
Save this if you want to feel more connected, more controlled, and more confident through your upper body.

Not trying to overhaul everything at once.
Not rewarding survival with habits that quietly make things harder.
Not through punishment or pressure but through awareness, consistency, and care. Plus returning to supportive routines.
Starting small.
Building gradually.
Choosing actions that help rather than cope.
That’s where change becomes sustainable.
Small steps taken repeatedly are what reshape habits, rebuild confidence, and create lasting progress.

Five slant-board exercises, designed to build knee strength progressively from simple activation to real quad and tendon work.
Each level builds on the last.
Starting with control and awareness, then gradually introducing load, range, and resilience
Better knee strength supports better movement, more confidence in training, and fewer interruptions from everyday aches and pains.
Start where it feels manageable.
Build when you’re ready.

Five things we`ve seen time and time again that give people the best shot at sticking with it and feeling good about it too.
1. Timing matters
Don’t just start because you feel guilty. Start when you’re ready to give it space in your week and in your head. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but it does need a little breathing room.
2. Do your due diligence
Choose a plan that fits your current level not your ideal self. Ask questions, understand the journey, and give yourself permission to start small.
3. Make peace with obstacles
Life will interrupt. You’ll get tired. You’ll miss a session. It’s not failure it’s just part of it. Expect bumps, and keep going anyway.
4. Don’t quit before the good bit
The first few weeks are the hardest. Push through the doubts, the awkwardness, the mental resistance if you can. What comes next is confidence, momentum and joy.
5. Momentum builds belief
Once you get going, things shift. Your mood, your mindset, your habits. You don’t need belief to start but you’ll find it along the way.

Transformations are everywhere.
Six-pack selfies. Before-and-afters. Big visual change.
And there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look great.
But if what’s going on inside isn’t supported, confidence, resilience, self-trust the mirror won’t fix that. Real change doesn’t start with a photo.
It starts with foundations. That’s why small steps matter. Steps that build grit. Steps that build consistency. Steps that strengthen what you can’t see yet. Resilience isn’t boosted by a reflection.
It’s built quietly through showing up, again and again. That’s how progress lasts. Inside first. Outside follows. `Flashing lights` would be nice, but you don’t need it.

Gone in 6 Weeks but for more than 12 years, our client woke up with sciatic pain. Sharp, draining, and almost daily. It shaped the way they moved, the way they stood, even the way they lived.
Six months ago, they walked in unsure if anything could change.
Six weeks later… the pain was gone.
Not eased.
Not reduced.
Gone.
And for the last three months, they’ve lived pain-free. Moving with confidence, sleeping without discomfort, and finally feeling like themselves again.
This is what happens when the right exercises meet consistency, patience, and belief.
If you’re living with sciatic pain:
there is a way forward.

People first. Always.
Everything we do starts with relationships built on care, sincerity, and taking the time to understand the person in front of us. We believe that when people feel seen, supported, and genuinely looked after, confidence grows. Plus consistency follows. Then exercise becomes something that fits into real life not something that competes with it.
That’s the approach.

This Is What People Feel Here 👇
1️⃣ Consistency
From the very beginning, the approach has stayed the same. Whether there are a handful of people or a full group in front of us, the energy, care, and attention doesn’t change.
2️⃣ It’s about people, not products
Community events sit at the heart of what we do creating accessible ways for people to move, connect, and feel supported, whatever their starting point.
3️⃣ Support beyond the session
Support doesn’t begin when the clock starts or end when it finishes. It’s before sessions, between events, across courses, and year after year.
4️⃣ A two-way relationship
The fun, the shared experiences, and the stories that come from training together fuel us just as much as they inspire others.
5️⃣ We’re here for the long run
Not just for single events, but for the journeys and relationships that grow from them.
That’s why we’re excited for what’s ahead:
Couch to 5K starting 26th February, to community training for the Brecon Beacons challenge, and everything in between.
