What is the Brecon Beacons 10 Peaks Challenge?
The route spans 22.4 miles through the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Along the way, you’ll take on 10 unique peaks, including the famous Pen y Fan (886m), with a total of 1,800 metres of gentle-to-steady climbs spread across the day. That said, you won’t be doing it alone – with support along the way, a steady pace, and encouragement from the group. Furthermore, it’s designed to be achievable for anyone who’s prepared to give it a go. Therefore, whether you’re aiming for a fresh fitness goal, want to enjoy the outdoors in good company, or simply fancy trying something different, this event is for you.
Event Details
Here’s a quick overview of the key event details, so you know exactly what to expect:
1. First things first, the Challenge Date is set for Saturday, 16th May 2026.
2. Prior to that, the Arrival Date will be Friday, 15th May 2026.
3. After the challenge, the Departure Date will be Sunday, 17th May 2026.
4. Group Size: 20–30 people.
We’ll be based at the Premier Inn hotel in Merthyr Tydfil, with arrivals on Friday and departures on Sunday.
On Saturday morning, a private coach will take us to the starting point of the Brecon Beacons at 7:20am. In addition, during the trek, our support vehicle will meet us at checkpoints to provide light snacks, drinks, and carry any extra belongings — therefore, you can walk light and simply enjoy the experience. Meanwhile, training options are also available.
Brecon Beacons Training Options
To help everyone feel ready, we’re offering a 10-week training course leading up to the event. These weekly sessions will take place in Charlottenburg Park, Deptford, every Thursday evenning from 6pm -7pm. Note: the first session is on Thursday 12th March and we’ll focus on building strength for hill walking. While optional, this training course is a great way to prepare — especially if you’d like to make the day feel more comfortable and enjoyable. Subsequently, financial options are available below.
Brecon Beacons Financial Options
You can choose between two packages:
1. Challenge + Accommodation – £350 per person includes:

🏨 Two nights’ hotel accommodation (Friday & Saturday)
🚌 In addition, return coach travel from the hotel to the starting point on Saturday morning, and back again after the challenge
🧭 Fully guided trek with qualified mountain leaders
🚐 What’s more, a support vehicle that’ll meet us at key checkpoints throughout the day
☕ Light snacks, hot drinks, and hydration stations along the route
🍳 Hotel breakfast provided on both Saturday and Sunday morning
🎖️ Finally, a completion medal and full support throughout
2. Full Package (Challenge + Accommodation + Training) – £450 per person includes everything above plus 10 weeks of structured training sessions. Payment in parts is available, with the balance due by 31st March 2026.
Travel Info
Participants arrange their own travel to the hotel on Friday 15th May. Specifically, the nearest station is Pentre – Bach, which is just a short walk from the Premier Inn Hotel.
